Group exhibition “I Fly”

Filed under: Exhibitions, News and Events — admin @ 7:45 pm

Richter werkatelier present the work of Frank van Bergen, Gerard Huisintveld en Huub Sadée. The opening of this exposition will be hold on 11 October at 16.00 hours.

The artist met each other in Brabant, studied in TeHaTex and in the Academie for Arts in Tilburg where there careers independently from each other has been further developed. They will now meet each other again in the Werkatelier Richter.

“I Fly” found itself in the circumstance that it couldn’t be open, both in supplying positive and of negative information. But the artists mean it good. But being good means not always that you get rewarded. Despite the fact that the artists are taking care of the humility, it doesn’t means that this humanity understands or accept the message. All above this; the destiny plays an important role.

We can insure one thing: There is something to see in the Werkatelier Richter. Absolutely. The ways in which you watch determine yourself. Are you ready? Or you prefer ready it in the newspaper?

This new passionate exhibition starts Saturday 11 of October at 4 at 16.00 pm in presence of the artists. The werkatelier is opened at Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12.00 pm till 17.30 pm. You can find the workshop at the ‘t Juttersplein 2 in Den Helder.

Discovering Netherlands (2d part)

Filed under: Weblog — admin @ 5:55 pm

I introduce you from Frida Germany, Anna from Sweden  and Sara From Germany.  You already know Maria and me. Georgia is behind the camera : )

I liked a lot the weather, the camping, the beach and the city.

Except that:

- I that because we biked 2 hours to arrive to the camping my allergy killed me

- I didn’t know that in a touristic island is possible that everything is close on Sunday. Than Sunday morning I was searching a breakfast in the empty central city.

- there is too much spiders in the toilet, in the shower, in the tent, …

But al the rest was perfect it’s why with my roommates we decided to stay longer.

      We call this far niente

Now I have to presente you the second shock that you can have when you come to live in the Netherlands. Can be dangerous so go down the page slowly slowly

This is the typical dessert for the dutch people.  It’s not pudding, it’s not yoghurt it’s THE VLA.                   Be careful and never say that you don’t like it. For them it’s like if you say something bad about the queen. They can be really nice, friendly, …  BUT don’t say beurk about THE VLA.

This was my first week in the most beautiful country in the world.

So far I understood that the year will be better that all what I imagined.

We are living up the gallery in the main street of Den Helder. The Richter atelier it’s a small gallery with each month a different exhibition. I like the act that the people can come often and find all the time something completely different to see.  We had already had in 4 month an exhibition of Lynn Hassan a Californian artist, 2 time 3 english artists, D.A.C. and now Huub and 2 friends are preparing a strange exhibition about the art in confrontation.  For more information about the exhibition see the website.

No possible to be in the Netherlands without to go to Amsterdam.  So we went to Amsterdam. Nice city . I don’t know if it’s because everything is new for me but I think that there is a lot of place, at least in Den Helder and Amsterdam, to see piece of art. Galleries, houses, street, areas,… The first time we only make first a rapid tour of the city, the second time was more serious than we make

a long tour in the Temporary Museum (crazy mind)

                      , in Nemo (fascinating )            , in the library(amazing)

and on the canal on boat (nice for he informations but after this long long day, it was just perfect to sleep).

Hello I’m Imen. I’ m the new Belgian crew of Richter for 4 months now. With Georgia from Greece and Manuel from Italy we are volunteers’ EVS for 1 year in the most beautiful city of the world. And for sure with the most beautiful people of the world. Around us we have Rosine, Peter , Remco and Huub. Each one is important. I can explain right now how and why each one is so particular and important for me but I’m sure that it will be understandable all a long this year where I will tell you the life in The RichterHouse.

So  I’m EVS from the 1st of June2008 till the 31st of may 2009.

Fisrt of all, I arrived to Den Helder after 4 hours of train. Busy like a donkey because you never know where you go when you go to a EVS.  Lucky Maria and Remco came to pick up me in the train station.

FIRST SHOCK the language : When you didn’t practice english from Highschool and you finish Highschool 5 years ago, it’s more than difficult to meet 2 people speaking english one with german accent and the other with dutch accent. The most important it’s that they where both nice like angel with me. After the lunch prepared by Remco. He is a CHEF.

The next days I decovered Den Helder and we went to pick Georgia up from the airport.  Than she become first my roommate and than my friend.

With Georgia our first question was if we can change the decoration of our rooms. It was ok so we started the work “subito presto”.

Some friends of Maria came home and we went all together to Texel “the most beautiful island in the world”. Texel is at 15 min of Den Helder in boat. The weather was o nice, we came back home after 3 “lekker” days completely burn. YES, it’s possible in the north of Europe.
