West Lothian Youth Theatre (WLYT) from Edinburgh (Scotland) in co operation with Richter foundation from Den Helder (the Netherlands) has organise a 9 days spring / summer cultural event called “Get the Picture” from 3 till 11 May 2008 in the highlands of Scotland.

Richter werkatelier present the work of the New York artist Lynn Hassan. The opening of this exposition will be hold on 24 may at 16.00hours.

Adjusting Course Fifty Degrees: To arrive by way you know not you must travel by way you know not…

Lynn Hassan, an artist from New York, will be in residence at Richter Werkatelier starting on May 14 till the opening of her new exhibition in order to work and two and three-dimensional works with site-specific materials to create an interactive installation. Her work reflects how we are complicated creatures in a complicated universe. That dreams and visions hide and overlap …. public and private as we wander through the labyrinths of our own psyches.

Crossing time and space, we yearn for contact with ourselves, each other, the sacred. Artists are collectors …dew collectors …bringing together disparate fragments that jostle and vibrate …rainmakers, spirit dancers, and memory bundlers. Hassan’s work is a vessel navigating the boundaries seeking the mystery song through poetic forms of visual expression with connecting threads that interweave present moments to the ancient past. Ephemeral, yet constant, we walk, marking the traces entwining life and art.

The opening of the exposition starts on Saturday 24 May at 16.00 pm in presence of the artist. The werkatelier is opened at Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12.00 pm till 17.30 pm.
