Exposition “Zoom in Hands”

Filed under: Exhibitions, News and Events — admin @ 12:56 pm

picture-1.jpgThe Richter foundation invites you to come to the opening of the exhibition “Zoom in hands” on the 19th of January.

Exposé Ioanna Bohalteanu, born in Brasov (Romania) tries to reveal the essence of existence with this exhibition and translates this in an often very intense way to contemporary images.

The goal is to make visitors apart of the actuality and the beauty that can be discovered within her objects and to absorb them, but at the same time it also offers a continuous search for deeper undiscovered picture-3.jpglayers.

The exhibition consists of a light installation and works on canvas. For Ioanna Bohalteanu light is the foundation of our existence and a very important source of inspiration.

As well as these works of art she also shows several works in which communication between people is a central theme. the hand is the symbolic connection of our existence and a direct link with the dialogue. Have we peeked your interest than you are more than welcome on January the 19th at 15.30 hours at the opening of the exhibition.

Atelier in action by Richter is located at the juttersplein 2 in Den Helder. Opening hours are Wednesday till Saturday from 12.00 till 17.30 hours.

Report .. Stuttgarter PopNet-Europe Symposium 26-30 Nov-2007

Filed under: News and Events — admin @ 11:29 pm

A report by Richterbruder : Jan-Willem & Guido Von der Velden and an impression of how Richter approaches youth and music.

Day 1: The arrival of the Richterbruder in Stuttgart. The ICE travels fast and the Richter bus was on time to bring us to the youth hostel. Our room#: B4.07 (2 brothers on the 4th floor..)| At the Youth Hostel Stuttgart we enjoyed a good diner and where invited to a jazzclub “Bix” for a welcome drink and meet up with the participants from the UK, Rumania, Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy and Malta.

Day 2:  First encounter with Stuttgart: “Town Hall” where the symposium was held , incl. a warm welcome by our hosts for the week: Franz Bauer & Catherine Galliou.

Main theme :::: What can we do to make Europe more available for musicians who would like to make a start performing when there are not many facilities or little knowledge about the big world of stage performance?

The answer: Lets found PopNet Europe! In several workshops we intended to discus the working of a network and the pitfalls of working with different organisations and people through a network. With all his knowledge as a band assistant on tour Jan Willem gave a summary of the do’s and don’ts. After a hard days work we enjoyed a nice glass of champagne in one of the youth hostels we visited we had more time to get closer as a group, and exchange information about our own organisations…

Day 3: A day of hard work at the symposium with lectures and workshop shining some new light on: What does music do to the body and brain… what makes it so universal? At night a small group had diner in another youth guesthouse where we met up with an old friend from the Stuttgarter Mobility Symposium 2005 which brought up old memories.

Day 4: A very fruitful day: The presentation of Richter at Town Hall

Ingredients: Richter PowerPoint Presentation — 2 Dutch brothers — Richter merchandise (stickers, pens, flyers, comes and handbags) — 50 Stroopwafels (“do you have any more”?) + A curious audience (“finally we get to know who those crazy Dutch guys are”!) ……… At night the Scots and Germans stayed friends after a 3-2 for Stuttgart as they played Glasgow Rangers in Stuttgart, and a beer was raised while singing their own club-songs. That wasn’t the only singing, as some people went to bed to be fresh for a long workshop at Town-Hall the next day, the blue Richter-12 string guitar was used to show in practice what music can do to unite people/groups and projects! Unfortunately everyone was so busy singing that nobody thought about taking pictures and even when I was lying in bed I could still hear them singing songs from ABBA via Marley to ZAPPA. It really was something special…

Day 5: A day with lectures and workshops about funding youth projects and a continuation of working with networks. At night we visited a local youth centre where bands rehearsed and we met up with bands that already via PopBuro had played Cardiff (UK) and Samara (SU)  And then… finally a moment where many participants where waiting for: The jam session: PopNet participants Stuttgarter Jam.

Day 6: The last day in Town Hall .After a Richter “chicken-wing-treat” at Town Square we went to see the museum of one of world’s most exclusive brands: MERCEDES. At night PopNet participants where invited to a party that was held for the sister cities of Stuttgart from over the world. 10 course buffet and Rock and Reggae band really got the feet on the floor for some serious dancing:

The last day: Very sad to leave we packed our bags and decided to park our “Richter car” at Town-Hall and take the easy ICE-train back to Den-Helder. We said GruB Gott und Auf wiedershoren Stuttgart!

We hope you enjoyed the presentation of Stuttgart according to the Richterbruder and we wish to meet you again on one of Richter’s’ adventures around the globe
