Training in Armenia – Call for Participation

West Lothian Youth Theatre from Scotland in collaboration with the Richter foundation from the Netherlands and World Independent Youth Union from Armenia are planning to organize from 23 till 29 February 2008 a European training in Yerevan, Armenia.

With this training we want to give an opportunities to NGO from Europe and from the former Soviet republics to share their experiences and gain knowledge about youth projects management as well as to establish new contacts and develop common project ideas in the field of the new program Youth in Action.

Three main objectives :

First of all we would like to investigate how West European organize their voluntary work, and how does (for example) East European foundations organize their. We have a deeper look at the differences, similarities and invest of what is a good and interesting volunteer project?

The second part of the training is to give opportunities to the applicants to share their experiences gain knowledge about youth project management. Together we will find tools that helps the involvement local and regional to develop themselves in organizing youth exchanges and to make EVS to take part in the activity.

The third part is to clarify the use of theatre as a tool for establishing social integration. The training will help the applicants and their organizations to improve their skills and to enhance their knowledge of the theme.

How to apply:

The training is open for European and former Soviet countries and have place for 24 participants. We expect that the applicant is working with the theme volunteering and social integration, that they can pass on the information, skills and contacts, that they have a mandate in order to make solid agreements and that they can communicate in English.

Exposition of Maria Mink in werkatelier SK during the Art Route

Often artist are working behind close doors en are forbidden for visitors until the work can be showed to a large audience. But not this weekend. Because this weekend visitors are invited to have a closer look behind these doors and in an informal atmosphere they can meet the artist, there workshop and them work. The participating artist are mainly professionals who all have a working relation with Den Helder.

The organization of the Art Route provided for those artist who don’t have the luxury of there own private workshops special location where they can display there work. By showing special location, the audience doesn’t entertain themselves with only looking to art but also with the beautiful surrounding of Den Helder. 

One of the organizations that will open there doors is Stichting Richter. Maria Mink is active during the Art Route with a real life “Show-Box”. Maria Mink has made a drawing world that has influence from the reality I which we life in the nowadays. The show-box is an installation gives the visitor a giant impression, just by walking inside and being a part of this world. Maria Mink is graduated in 2002 as illustrator on thee Constantijn Huygens art academy in Kampen, the Netherlands. Her journey form the last 2 years gave her the inspiration that can be see in her recent work. Also the sea is an important element that come soften back in her work.

The exhibit is on display on 15 and 16 September 2007 at Richters “work atelier SK.
