Welcome to “werkatelier” SK.

On the 21st of April 2007 Richter opened a new gallery in Den Helder, the Netherlands. The gallery is located on the juttersplein 2 in former café “t Kurkje. After several month of hard labour the regular crew of Richter (and with a handful of motivated volunteers) transformed this pub space into amongst others the werkatelier in action.

With this werkatelier in action Richter has reached one of its goals. Regularly we offer young artists from Holland and Europe the chance to exhibit their work. Other goals of the werkatelier SK are: to perform a variety of art forms in the broadest sense of the word , to give new up and coming talent a chance and to be a platform for these artists. Most of the ateliers activities are on a project basis and the objective is to work on a non profit base.

Beside the gallery we alsorun a special section in the same building where the exhibition taking place. This section is called See-Buy-Bye and is created to encourage visitors to buy art. But also to let them experience that it can be fun to buy art and to show young artists how easy it can be to sell their art.

This does See-Buy-Bye works;

  • You as the artist can exhibit 2 pieces of art for a modest financial donation for the duration of one month.
  • To avoid high barriers and to give young visitors also the opportunity to buy art for a reasonable price we have a maximum price of not more than 250 euros for each work.
  • If your exhibited piece of art sells within the month you can replace it by another piece at no extra charge.
